If you are ill, injured, or need consultation regarding physical exams, vaccinations, medicine, or finding healthcare facilities, please call the WellBe Alarm Center. Our services are available 24/7/365 in Japanese. We coordinate with WellBe's network of healthcare facilities, including general hospitals, specialized hospitals, and clinics.

Dispatching a support staff
Support Staff Dispatch

If you are in an area with resident medical support staff, one of our team members will come to the healthcare facility to provide assistance, including medical interpretation, even in emergency situations. (Designated caregivers are not included in this service.)

If you are in an area without resident medical support staff, we will dispatch our staff from the nearest location based on the severity of your illness or injury. (Expenses for transportation and accommodation are not included.)

We refer you to an interpreter when you visit a healthcare facility.

Support on reimbursement of medical expenses
Medical Expense Reimbursement

If you have eligible insurance covered by WellBe, we facilitate a cashless service for illnesses or injuries included in your coverage. You will not need to pay at the time of treatment, as we will handle the payment on your behalf and submit a claim to your insurer.

This cashless service is limited to facilities affiliated with or in-network with WellBe.

Obtaining a signed consent form for an operation (contacting your family)
Consent Form Handling

When having an operation overseas, the hospital may require a family member to sign a consent form. We will contact your designated emergency contact, inform them of the situation, and arrange for the consent form to be signed.

If necessary, our support staff will translate the consent form into Japanese and provide a full explanation.

Reporting your medical condition (monitoring service)
Medical Condition Monitoring

For patients admitted due to severe illness or injury, we may submit a medical condition report to your employer in a timely manner.

Consent from the patient or a family member is required.

Arrangements for emergency evacuation to a local hospital or overseas
Medical Evacuation

We arrange land, sea, or air transportation (regular or chartered flights) for patients based on their medical condition.
We arrange for an attending doctor and nurse to accompany the patient during the evacuation.
If you have difficulty making arrangements, we can check acceptability with a hospital in Japan.

Arrangements for repatriation and local cremation of the remains
Repatriation and Cremation

In the event of an employee's unexpected death abroad, we provide compassionate support and assistance with the following arrangements:

Obtaining necessary documents from local authorities and assisting with required procedures.
Transporting the remains to Japan or another location, or arranging for cremation in the local country, as requested by the bereaved family.
Introducing a funeral home in Japan if needed.

Second opinion
Second Opinions

We assist you in obtaining second opinions from hospitals, such as speciality hospitals. Additionally, we can introduce you to second opinion institutions in Japan.
